Team Solutions Project Suceeds
Over a year ago, meetings were implemented with employees from the different areas such as production, sales, shipping and receiving. Each meeting is very informal and is ran by someone in Human Resource. During these meetings, employees are asked to input their ideas on how things can be improved upon. These meetings enable all employees from top to bottom to have a voice in what could be done to improve their particular areas. We believe that taking advice and addressing complaints from the people out on the floor doing the job is key. In our first year of trying this innovative process, these “Solution Meetings” have already made our company twice as efficient and a lot more opened minded to new ideas. 
For example the Graphics House production team brought up the problem of floor space in the printing room. This would have not been brought to our attention without these meetings. We realized by building new skid shelving we could create four times the inventory space for the warehouse. In our shipping and receiving department, our employees brought up the fact that the overhead door could be replaced with one, making shipping and receiving more efficient plus it created a giant reduction in energy consumption. Our sales team brought up the fact that if we started to run credit cards in morning before products are shipped its saved time. Energy reduction strategies including heat, cooling and lighting in the sales areas, also we improved internal and external appliance of the company’s three manufacturing facilities to save energy.
